Construction has begun on River Haus, the new multi-use project being built at 501 Main Street. When completed this development will bring new residences, businesses and parking options to MainStrasse Village. However, the project’s initial construction phase will impact the number and locations of parking spaces available in the Village. Visitors are advised to review the information contained at the link below which will be updated regularly by the City of Covington as construction progresses.
As you will see, there are a number of new parking options available. New street parking is being added on 7th and 8th Streets, for example. The IRS Lot will be available on evenings and weekends, and is just a short walk from the Village. The Designs Direct Lot on Philadelphia Street will be available for a nominal fee on Friday and Saturday nights. During construction, the city is subsidizing the existing valet parking available at the corner of 6th and Main Streets in order to lower the already low price and encourage visitors to use this convenient method of parking. Lastly, both Philadelphia Street and the John R. Green Lot will have public parking available.
The Village is still open, and will be so every day. This plan insures that plenty of parking is still conveniently available with the proper planning by visitors to the village. Once the River Haus Project is completed, there will be even more residential and entertainment options in our neighborhood, as well as new parking options!
