The MainStrasse Village is located less than 1-mile south of Cincinnati, Ohio in Covington, Kentucky. We are the first exit from Ohio or the last one in Kentucky.

From Kentucky I-71/I-75 Northbound: Take EXIT #192, 5TH STREET, continuous right turn off exit ramp turns into 5TH STREET. Continue on Fifth one block to free parking lot on right, or 2 blocks to right on MAIN ST.

From Ohio I-71/I-75 Southbound: Cross Ohio River into Kentucky. Take the first exit on the Kentucky side of the bridge EXIT #192, 5TH STREET exit towards COVINGTON/NEWPORT, (left lane of exit ramp). Continue on Fifth one block to free parking lot on right, or 2 blocks to right on MAIN ST.

From Newport: Take W 4TH STREET west, over the Licking River Bridge. W 4TH becomes E 4TH, continue to LEFT on MAIN ST.

We have partnered with Covington Partners in Prevention for the 6th year for The Keeping Kids Warm Hat and Glove Drive focuses on providing new mittens, gloves and hats to needy Covington children. 

There are 2 ways you can help:

1. Donate new childrens’ hate & gloves (all sizes)
2. Purchase $1 paper mittens at participating MainStrasse Village businesses (proceeds donated to Covington Partners in Prevention, to assist in teh purchaes of hats and gloves.)

Drop off items at the MainStrasse Village Association office, 406 W. Sixth Street, Suite 201.

Pick up your punchcard at Ottoman Imports, MK’s Totebags and Monogramming, The Groove Coffee House, Noah’s Art Salon, The Enchanted Florist, Strasse Dog, Complete Chiropractic, Julie’s Inspiration, Stoney’s Gifts or The Candy Bar.   Visit all 10 of these locations to get registered to win a MainStrasse Village gift basket full of products and gift certificates to Village businesses.

All ladies will recieve food, drink, retail and service specials here in MainStrasse Village. It’s a party and you’re invited!

Gallery Hop and …Shop Open House – Friday, December 2nd, 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.: Stroll through the streets and enjoy local art in the participating businesses (download map at covingtonarts.com), grab dinner at one of our locally-owned restaurants and purchase the last gifts on your list at one of our unique gift shops.

Christmas Tree Sales – Purchase your fresh cut tree in MainStrasse Village! – Friday, December 2nd – Sunday, December 4th. Reasonably priced frasier fir trees and wreaths will be available on the Sixth Street Promenade. Make buying your tree in the Village a family tradition!

Miracle in MainStrasse Day of Family Fun! – Saturday, December 3rd: Bring the entire family to MainStrasse Village. While sipping hot chocolate, coffee or gluhwein, roasting marshmallows or just sitting by the firepits, enjoy a concert on the Goose Girl Fountain by the Holmes High School Band (1:00 p.m.); People and pet pictures will be taken in the sleigh on 6th and Main by the Rescue Angels Animal Rescue (noon – 4 p.m.). Sit by the firepits and enjoy music by local favorite The Turkeys on the Goose Girl Fountain (3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.) and finally, enjoy Christmas Karaoke for all ages on the Goose Girl Fountain (7:00 – 11:00 p.m.).

Arrival of St. Nicholas – Tuesday, December 6th (6:00 p.m.): Bring your children to the Goose Girl Fountain to experience the arrival of St. Nicholas on horseback. Each child will receive a gift from St. Nicholas and free hot chocolate and cookies.

City of Covington Candy Cane Hunt - Saturday, December 10th, 2:00 p.m. at Goebel Park.

Give back this season! Support our Hats & Mittens Drive to Keep Covington Kids Warm. Drop off new hats and mittens at the MainStrasse Village Association Office (406 W Sixth Street) or donate $1 by purchasing paper mittens at MainStrasse Village participating businesses. Donations will be distributed to Covington’s kids through Covington Partners in Prevention.

MainStrasse Village Association was formed in 1979 and is dedicated to improving the image and recognition of the area, by encouraging and assisting businesses and tourism development and contributing to the ongoing beautification of this 19th century German neighborhood. In order to accomplish its goals, MainStrasse Village hosts several festivals each year including Mardi Gras, Maifest, Goettafest, Wine Festival and Oktoberfest. We also host many other smaller events including the 4th Sunday Antique Shows and special holiday celebrations.

MainStrasse Village is a designated national historic district that is the home of Old World charm and New World fun. We offer a unique variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and entertainment and we pride ourselves on offering a safe environment to visitors and residents alike.

Sunday, October 23: 12 Noon until 5 p.m.

Dress your dog as a famous artist or art work and join the Paw-rade! Paw-rade begins in Goebel Park at 2:30 p.m.

Lucy, the Mayor of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky is the Grand Marshall of the Paw-rade.

Register your K-9 participant in Goebel Park. Registration fee is $5.00 and proceeds benefit U-Can and Rescue Angels, Inc.

Free Doggie Goodie Bag with Registration

Three Top Prizes will be awarded – Best Original Costume, Best Store Bought Costume & Best Theme Costume.

In addition, every dog is a winner and gets a prize in their goody bag! Lots of fun for Everyone!

No dog? Come and enjoy the Paw-rade, the Festivities and Cheer for your Favorite Canine!

This year, the MainStrasse Village Dog Costume Paw-rade is partnering with Full Spectrum 2011.  During October, the City of Covington celebrates the month long Full Spectrum Arts Festival to emphasize the celebration of artists and crafters.

Paw-rade is open to dogs only.  No other animals are allowed on the grounds.  All dogs must be kept on a leash and proof of current rabies vaccination is required.
